Maximizing Your MWC25 Experience and Emerging Brands to Watch

With only a few days before the Mobile World Congress Barcelona 2025 Kick-Off, planning continues to be high on most attendees' to-do lists.

Last year, I did a top four tips video, which I will link here. But talking to some friends this week and remembering the previous year, I decided to give you an extra tip if this is your first time visiting. That is to allow and plan for time to do walkabouts before you leave the congress.

Let me explain what I mean; many attendees, whether it is their first time or not, attend as brand partners or collaborators, and they have such a busy schedule that it does not leave much time for walkabouts, or attendees may have a specific list of brands they want to check out, which tends to be the top tech giants, which of course we all do because they have the more prominent and most fabulous booths, more solutions and innovations, and the top keynotes.

But with over 2,700 exhibitors on the floor at MWC25 this year, please give yourself a chance to have more in-depth walkabouts because you never know whom you might encounter that sparks your interest.

Most people, myself included, underestimate how much there is to see and do at Mobile World Congress each year. And you have to remember, MWC is a mile long, from end to end. Plus, there are there are activities at other venues around Barcelona. So, four days, plus previews, go by extremely fast.

You may also consider making a list of the keynotes you want to watch each day live and which ones you want to replay when you get back home.

In this article, I share a few more emerging companies I look forward to checking out (as well as the tech giants I wrote about a few days ago). Here are five emerging companies that I believe will make an impact at MWC 2025:

L+R, Spacial Computing

They are returning to 4 Years From Now (4YFN) for the third time, where L+R aims to captivate attendees with its advancements in spatial computing. Their work with the Meta Spatial SDK stands out, enabling mobile applications to transition seamlessly into immersive digital experiences.

Their creative strategy aims to revolutionize how companies use technology. Tools like Media View for the Meta Quest empower brands to deliver next-level interactive experiences.

KDDI Corporation

KDDI Corporation is unveiling WAKONX, a business platform designed for the AI integration era. Their focus on WAKONX Mobility showcases how AI and communication technologies can support a future mobility society.

Collaborations with partners like Skydio, Inc. highlight their commitment to innovative solutions, such as deploying drones and Starlink in convenience stores to enhance disaster response and urban safety.

Canonical

Canonical's return to MWC highlights its commitment to open-source technologies that power the future's infrastructure. Its focus on edge computing and cloud-native network transformation responds to the rapidly evolving 5G environment.

By collaborating with industry leaders, Canonical aims to provide cost-effective, flexible deployments for virtual RAN workloads, facilitating the growth of 5G services.

NIL Technology (NILT): Optical Solutions

NIL Technology will showcase its latest advancements in metalens technologies at MWC 2025. Their innovative products, such as the metaEye™, metaMacro™, and metaInfinity™, offer ultra-compact camera solutions for applications ranging from eye-tracking to gesture recognition.

NILT is leading the way in the delivery of cutting-edge optical components and is set to transform industries, including biometrics and augmented reality.

UMIDIGI: Advanced Mobile Technology

UMIDIGI plans to unveil its latest 5G products and mobile innovations at MWC 2025, including the Note 100 series, G100 series, and the all-new X series. Devices like the A100 5G and G100 5G feature large AMOLED screens, substantial battery life, and unique design elements.

UMIDIGI aims to provide high-quality smart devices at budget-friendly prices. Its commitment to affordable innovation is set to significantly impact the global smart device market.

Explore these brands and what they have to showcase. Engage in conversations, experience their demonstrations, and check how their innovations can integrate into and elevate your ventures.

The essence of MWC is interacting with people, where inspiration meets implementation.

MWC 2025 is not just about the tech unveiled but about the connections forged and the ideas ignited that will spark the next generation of startups.

To quote MWC, let's converge, create, and connect. See you in Barcelona!
