With only a few days before the Mobile World Congress Barcelona 2024 kick-off, let me give you 4 tips to make the most out of your MWC Experience.
Wear comfortable shoes
MWC is big, very big. Did you know that the venue where MWC is held in Barcelona is about a mile long from one end to the other?
So bring comfortable shoes as you will be doing a lot of walking. Don’t make the mistake I did on my first ever MWC where I ended up having to go to the Mare Magnum shopping mall to get some sneakers.
Been there, done it, learn from my mistake, your feet will thank me.
2. Bring a powerful portable charger
You’ll be surprised at how much quicker your cellphone can run out of juice and you don’t want to get caught out of battery or having to search for power sockets.
3. Planning planning and more planning
Be ready for the reality that you won’t be able to do everything. It happened on my first year, I was mad because I didn’t get to see everything and it was only afterward that I realized you are not supposed to see everything.
Prioritizing is key and a few years later, to me that is more paramount than ever.
Plus remember with the hybrid of having lots of the summits and keynotes online you can watch replays later.
So prep your visit even if someone else is planning some of your schedule, you always have time to do your own thing. Do not miss out on checking the brands and summits your are interested in.
4. Last but not least, network!
Take advantage of the GSMA’s MWC24 App. They have worked on it for years and it is a great way to connect with other people, you can then connect on LinkedIn and make connections for future opportunities.
Let’s remember, that exploring innovation, meeting industry giants, unlocking opportunities, and creating new partnerships is what this tech world is about.
Wishing you all a productive and successful MWC experience.
