The Olympics are here and if you are visiting Paris between now and mid September when the Paralympic Games will finish then you may want to know the following.
Technology is set to have a significant impact this summer. If you are not familiar with the newest apps necessary for your trip to Paris, you might end up walking extra miles due to not being informed about the restricted zones for the Olympics.
Due to past events security this year has exponentially increased.
As I frequently visit Paris, I stay informed about the latest news, so I was aware that it was going to be somewhat chaotic.
From Mid July to Mid September there are lots of changes, that affect anyone visiting Paris.
Here are some apps to download:
1. If you are visiting the games log into “Paris 2024 Tickets” because without a QR code (which cannot be printed) you won’t be able to access any Olympic venue.
2. The other key platform is “Paris 2024 Olympic Games” that is the official app for the games. You will get real time alerts and an enhanced experience
3. “Transport Public Paris 2024” you will be able to buy tickets online, which will save you time queuing in Paris and trust me, at main stations, the queues can be really long, plus is another way to avoid pickpockets…
If you travel to France often make sure you have your “Ile De France Mobilities” app up to date it has also been updated with Olympic news.
“Ile De France Mobilities” and “SNCF Connect” are two of the apps I personally use when in France.
Make sure your cellphone is charged at all times to access the apps and nd if you do want to use private cars or Uber, do plan for extra time, due to the traffic restrictions until September.
Merci tout le monde, à la prochaine!
Note in regards the artwork cover image:
Paris 2024 chose to work with the talented illustrator Ugo Gattoni. His colourful world conveys the richness and diversity of the Paris 2024 project. It features the major symbols of Paris 2024, alongside numerous references to the Olympic and Paralympic Games, as well as to Paris and France.
You can buy these prints at the official Olympic Shop Website
